Computing and Online Safety

Computing Curriculum

Following a review of our current Computing Curriculum, in line with the new Keeping Children Safe in Education updates and concerns raised due to our children's online safety outside of school, we have launched a new Computing Curriculum.

We have researched many options and decided that Kapow! Computing was the scheme that best suited our children's needs.

Further information can be found here:

https://www.kapowprimary.com/subjects/computing/

Knowledge and skills developed:

  • Digital literacy
  • Online safety
  • Computational thinking
  • Computers and hardware
  • Cross-curricular application
  • Coding

Please see below:

- our whole school long-term plan

- the list of resources and programmes that children will be accessing

How do we keep your children safe online?

There is a document detailing our online safety curriculum below, which is also supported by:

- our PHSE learning through SCARF

- our RHSE curriculum through Ten Ten.

We also have a new Filtering and Monitoring System in school through Securly, to ensure your children are protected online. This company ensures that we have full filtering and monitoring access in school and can act swifty to block sites or deal with any concerns raised.
